Day 0 Rome to Genoa, Italy

This is second part of our trip to Italy and the Eastern Mediterranean. We began our vacation with a tour of Italy. Many of the MacMania cruisers are sharing their blogs, so I want to get the cruise portion up as soon a possible. I will recount the days of our Italy tour before the cruise when this is completed..

In each edition of Macworld magazine there is always an advertisement for MacMania. It is a cruise to an exotic location along with other travelers who just happen to be dedcated Mac users. They are booked with Neil and Theresa Bauman of Insight Cruises and they are a wonderful way to see the world and learn more at the same time.

I went on my first MacMania cruise in February of 2006. We toured the western coast of Mexico and had a wonderful time!

In November of 2007, Ron (my husband) and I toured the western Carribean and Panama canal. Now we are both fans of MacMania and we were anxious to continue our adventures with old and new friends.

We had been touring in Italy for 10 days. We caught a train from Rome to Genoa, ready to begin the next part of our adventure.

Unfortunately, even though I had my camera in my purse, I somehow managed not to take any pictures.

We arrived at the Genoa train station about 3:30 p.m. We immediately ran into Shawn and Lesa King, our dear friends who have visited with us several times at our home near Washington DC. We got 2 cabs to our hotel, the Star President in Genoa because we all had too much luggage to fit in the typical Italian taxi cab.

After drinks in the bar and a short rest, we attended the pre-cruise cocktail party at the hotel. Unfortunately, once again, I never got my camera out. However, Randal Schwartz did manage to take a few pictures.
