Getting Your Digtial Images to Look Like What You Saw

Do you share my frustration that your camera just
can't see to capture what your eye can see. Think
about that beautiful sunrise or sunset. You can see
all the detail in the foreground, but the camera
produces an image where the sky is great but the
foreground is lost in the shadows or the foreground
looks great, but the sky is all washed out.
The type of image you are visualizing has a "High Dynamic Range." While it is possible to produce HDR images with Photoshop, the $649 pricetag and the steep learning curve prevents amateur photographers from producing what they saw.
